Deep Creek Ranch, Inc., and Deep Creek Livestock, LLC, the Ranch's operating company, are Certified Humane by Humane Farm Animal Care. To become Certified Humane® we must meet the Humane Farm Animal Care standards for Beef Cattle and Sheep (which are on their website). We undergo a rigorous annual inspection to make sure we are meeting all the standards and in our case, we exceed them. For more information on the program go to: www.certifiedhumane.org
Our processor is South Marion Meats, of Summerfield, Florida. It's about an hour from the Ranch, and the only USDA certified processor available to us. The processor has been inspected and meets the highest welfare standards for slaughter. They meet the American Meat Institute Guidelines written by Dr Temple Grandin.
